Altair is looking for an experienced Contract Negotiator to join our legal team at our headquarters in Troy, MI.
Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements to support customer sales and Altairs purchase of software and services from vendors. Your primary focus will be on negotiating NDAs, vendor agreements, and consulting/contractor agreements based on Altairs standard templates or a customers template
Provide preliminary support to negotiate Altairs software license and engineering services agreements based on Altairs templates
Ability to work cross-functionally with different departments to reach consensus on whether to accept non-standard contract terms
Working in a fast-paced environment with multiple changing priorities
Being a team player that can collaborate with a global team
2-3 years experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating legal terms with an emphasis on commercial transactions (NDAs, working with contractors, software licenses, etc.)
Ability to draft documents and emails in a precise manner while still being easy to understand for non-contract professionals. Attention to detail is critical.
A confident, effective, and positive negotiator who can lead the process, focus on important issues and efficiently bring deals to a favorable close.
A solid understanding of legal terms and contract formulation principles is required. Must have the ability to comprehend legal terms, including intellectual property, indemnity, termination, warranties, and other remedy provisions.
Demonstrated experience in working directly with third parties in both cooperative and potentially adversarial scenarios.
Proficiency in Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Adobe Acrobat.
